          A buy-and-hold investor, Perez-Coutts focuses on companies that have solid fundamentals and are trading at reasonable valuations. Working with a team of five analysts, she uses a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis.

          The process starts with screening an investment universe of about 4,000 names spanning 26 countries. Since Perez-Coutts seeks companies with a minimum public float of US$350 million, this effectively reduces the number to 1,400 names.

          Patricia Perez-Coutts began her career in managing emerging markets equities for retail, high net-worth and institutional clients worldwide.

          "Then we ask ourselves, 'Which companies have been able to provide us with at least an average 10% cash flow return on investment?'" says Perez-Coutts.
